Description
It's difficult to identify mushrooms, there being so many of them, but if my online research is accurate, this is the Alcohol Inky, aka the Common Inkcap or Inky Cap. It's edible but should not be consumed when alcohol is in the body--hence its other name: Tippler's Bane. I found this cluster growing on my dirt-and-gravel driveway close to a wooded area. We can see the "ink" forming as the cap ripens.
